I am working on a fix as well,(not like i can fix it on my own but i sure can attempt to mess with everything under the sun) i have found some interesting structural concerns with win7 64bit rc1 7100 backbone,(love it) my thoughts are simply that they implemented the server 2003 admin side(keeping this in simple terms here) into win 7 with a fancy skin so this may help me out......ill have more later when i get this working without PB kicking me and windows denying an active service to be owned by a group policy. the following is one way to fix it.....for some people. i have been playing with this idea as well as file permissions...as in ownership of files. i am stripping some of the services out of my rc1 7100 to see if this will help out any....updates when i get it working. All of these errors are related to the PB system not being allowed to run with proper perms (permisions) every time u get into server your get bounced with in 5-15 seconds, all checks show that the PnkBstrB.exe refreshes itself and the perms attached to it, soooo that means that pb will kick you if it cannot communicate with your client side pb install. 11-23-2009

I was Having problems running Call Of Duty 4 on my Windows 7 Beta 64 bit machine because PunkBuster would kick me with and error saying Unknown windows API function ( 131152 ) . This really made me try hard to figure out WHY!!!!!,
So I went on a 3 hour journey scouring the internet to figure out why, all i came across was people with vista and windows blinds issues BLAH!

I fixed this issue with Windows7 64 bit by making the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB executable run as administrator, these file proved difficult to find in the 64bit edition of Windows7 (because they are not in the localization listed under the services properties window).
And setting the Service to allow interaction with the Desktop.

Go to Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services and find the PnkBstrA service

Right click and go to the Properties, Notice the Path to executable is listed as C:\Windows\system32\

Click on the Log On tab and check the Box to allow service to interact with Desktop

Next step we will go to the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB executable and make them run as administrators so they no longer cause this error.

The files are located in the folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and are PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe
Right click and go to Properties FOR EACH ONE of the 2 punkbuster exe's and go to the Compatibility Tab, at the bottom check off the "Run the program as Administrator" check box and apply the settings.

This should fix the PunkBuster Kicking issue. it did for me.

This worked for me, hope it works for otheres...

Windows 7 RC (build 7100) 64bit - Punkbuster - Call of Duty 4
Getting kicked for "PB Kick: Unknown Windows API Function [1311**]" ?

Make sure UAC is turned off before doing this! (and you've restarted since doing so). Ensure all traces of PB are uninstalled before doing this... even if you uninstall COD 4 through Windows you will need to manually delete the folder from x86 program filed.

1. Install Call of Duty, but click no to installing Punkbuster.
2. When this has finished, run pbsvc.exe from the disk.
3. Downloaded pbsetup from the even balance website. If you already have it downloaded, delete everything but the .exe from the folder its in.
4. Run pbsetup and choose the install directory for COD 4 (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare)

Check these two locations... There will be two new folders in the below locations, and the files in each should be the same:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\pb
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\COD4\pb

5. Copy your 'players' folder (if you saved it from your previous build) to C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare

6. Run the game, and enter a multiplayer pnkbuster game. Chances are you will be kicked after not long, wait till this if you can to exit the game.

7. Check again in the file locations i mentioned before, and you'll notice some different files:

FROM C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\COD4\pb
COPY pbsv.dat, PnkBstrA.exe, PnkBstrB.exe, and PnkBstrK.sys
TO C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\pb

FROM C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\pb
COPY pbcl.db, pbns_c.dat, and the 'scrnshot' folder
TO C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\COD4\pb

You should have the same stuff in both directories now.

Right click all instances of PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe and set to run as admin (to be honest I think it will work fine without doing this, but its what i did)

Try running the game now...
